Children’s Programming in Florence

The Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library is having registration for Fall Programs until August 31. The library has planned a variety of programs for children. Registration is required for all programs. Daycare centers may call for separate appointment for Preschool Storytime. Programming begins September 7.

Monday Evening Family Storytime
Every Monday Night @ 7:00 pm. For children 2-5 years of age
This storytime will begin Monday, September 13. The programs will consist of stories, music and simple crafts.
Toddler Storytime
Every Tuesday Morning @ 9:30 am. For children 2 years of age
Your child must be 2 years old to register for toddler storytime. We will have stories, fingerplays, simple crafts and music. This storytime will begin Tuesday, September 7 and will last 20 minutes.
Preschool Storytime
Every Tuesday Morning @ 10:30 am. For children 3-5 years of age
Your child must be 3-5 years old to register for preschool storytime. We will have stories, fingerplays, simple crafts and music. This storytime will begin Tuesday, September 7 and will last 30 minutes.
Tweens Storytime
Every Wednesday Afternoon @ 3:30 pm. Grades 3-5
The programs consist of movies, stories, crafts and guest speakers. Tweens storytime will begin on Wednesday, September 8 and will last 30 to 45 minutes.
Baby Storytime
Every Thursday Morning @ 10 am (Pre-walkers) & @ 11 am (Walkers).
For children 0-23 months old.

The programs are divided into two groups (Walkers and Pre-Walkers). An adult caregiver will need to stay with the baby during the 15 minute program. The programs will consist of music, fingerplays and stories appropriate for the age group. Baby Storytime will begin Thursday, September 9.
Aftershool Programming
Every Thursday Afternoon @ 3:30 pm. Grades 5K-2
Afterschool programming will consist of movies, stories, crafts and guest speakers. It will begin on Thursday, September 9 and will last 30 to 45 minutes.
Sunday Family Movies
Every Sunday Afternoon @ 2:30 pm
We will be have popular movies for families on Sundays beginning Sunday, September 12. The movies are rated either G or PG. See below for dates for Sunday Family Movies.


Children’s Programming in Olanta

The John M. Thomason Public Library (Olanta) has programming of its own during the Autumn months. The library has planned a variety of programs for children up to 9 years of age.

Family Movie Event
Sundays @ 2:00 pm. Contains Refreshments, Craft, and a Film
This Event is open to all ages as well as to the general public, though focused on children and their families. Movies are rated either G or PG. Crafts are made by children and parents before watching the film. The difficulty level of craft is typically kept on a preschool level (3-5 years old). Refreshments related to the movie’s theme are provided. Prizes are often given out following the movie.

Family Storytime
Thursdays @ 7:00 pm. For children 3-9 years of age
This program is open to families with children ages 3-9 years. It consists of stories, games, and songs and lasts about 45 minutes. Crafts will be provided during programs near holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. Registration is required.

Early Dismissal Kid’s Movies
Start at 2:00 PM
This program is for Elementary School age children, but is also open to the general public. Movies are action-packed and rated PG. During this program, there are no refreshments nor crafts provided.

Sunday Family Movies

Families will be able to enjoy more family movies every Sunday at 2:30 p.m.. Movies will be shown in the Privette Children’s Program Room and are all free of charge.
