Our Objectives:
- Sponsor quality programs
- Further the Childrens’ Summer Reading Program by hosting fundraisers to provide funding for families of Florence County
- Provide financial assistance for books, materials, services and special collections
- Give grants to the library
- Inform the community about the library’s schedule through newsletters, postcards, media sources

Recent assistance Friends have provided to the Library:
- provided opportunities for patrons to attend book signings with authors Cassandra King, Carolyn Hart, Margaret Maron, Stanley Lanzano, Dr. Ann Kulze, Marjory Wentworth and Ken Burger
- provided opportunities for patrons to attend book signings with Winter/Spring authors Stephan G. Hoffius, Thom Anderson, Ron Rash, Batt Humphreys, John Thompson
- sponsored Childrens’ Summer Reading Program, attended by over 10,000 participants
- purchased new books in the amount $2520
- promoted annual fundraiser “Guess What Friend is Coming to Dinner” with chef Charlotte Jenkins, author of Gullah Cuisine: By Land and by Sea
- earned $2830 in annual book sales
- supported Humanities Council sc Award Winner, Joe Stukes and his series that combines historical performances about notable people as well as hosting guest speakers from diversified occupations
- garnered $3603 in membership
- funded Summer Arts Series for Adults with guest artists and authors
