Summer Reading is Here at the Library!

Youth can explore the world with the Florence County Library System during the 2020 Summer Reading Program. This year’s theme, “Imagine your Story!” encourages children and teens to discover the world and other cultures through reading. The Summer Reading Program, which is open to youth from preschoolers to young adults, features BINGO Challenge, a summer reading club, Take and Make crafts, and virtual programs.

Summer Reading Club
Preschoolers (ages 2-5), children (grades 5K-5th), and teens (6th grade-12th grade) can register online at on June 8, or visit their local branch to pick up a summer reading packet. BINGO Challenge cards will be available on the library’s website (to print off), or in the summer reading packets. The packets can be picked up from a box located outside the local library during limited hours. Children who read 10 hours, preschoolers listen to 10 hours of reading, and teens who read 12 hours by July 10th can get a summer reading prize (while supplies last). Parents can mail the reading log to their local library or drop them off in the summer reading box outside their local library.

BINGO Challenge
Each youth completes five activities in a row:
Once they have five in a row, they have BINGO! Each youth may then choose to turn in their BINGO card to be added to the library list of BINGO All Stars, or they may complete all the activities on the card by July 10, 2020 to earn a summer reading prize (while supplies last). Parents can mail the BINGO Challenge card to their local Florence County Library System location, or drop them off in the summer reading box outside each library.
