Florence Library Presents Tour of DIY Place

The Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library presents a virtual tour of one of the newest downtown businesses, The DIY Place. The video will be available for viewing here and on our Facebook page.

The DIY Place opened last November at 157 W Evans Street and is the first of its kind in Florence. Customers can walk in and choose from available projects. All materials and tools are provided, and the staff is available to help customers finish projects. Aimee and Cornelio Monjarrez are co-owners of the business. Aimee Monjarrez says she’s “always had a passion for crafting and some people don’t think they have the crafting ability, but I want to give them a space and the tools that they could use and show them that they can actually do it.” Viewers of this virtual program will get a tour of DIY Place with Aimee Monjarrez, followed by a demonstration of how to make a sign out of a round wood base with a stencil and stains and paints. More information about the business can be found at the DIY Place Facebook page.
