The Florence County Library will offer a monthly Dog Therapy program for children ages 6-12 (only) on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. PawsNPages encourages children to read by providing a non-judgmental listener and furry friend to read to that won’t laugh at them if they make a mistake or stumble over words but rather lie next to them and enjoy the story being read to them. Trainer Kathryn Mathew will explain more to children about dog therapy programs (PawsNPages) and what makes it different than a service dog or an emotional support dog. Ms. Mathew will introduce her dog Nana to the children and they will learn how they are to treat her during the reading session. Registration is required and space is limited.
For more information and to register for PawsNPages contact the Greenberg Children’s Library at 843-292-7382.
