  • Florence Library Presents Cooking with Executive Chef Corey Green
    Starts: 12:00 am
    Ends: June 30, 2021 - 11:59 pm

    Description:

The Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library shares a virtual program by Executive Chef Corey Green. He prepares two dishes: rutabaga bisque and curry crusted seared scallops and creamy grits. The program is available on the library’s Facebook page.

Chef Green is originally from Camden South Carolina. He realized he had a passion for being a chef at an early age when he moved to New Orleans and experienced the taste, and smells of the local cuisine, as well as the overall culture of Louisiana.

Chef Green studied the culinary arts at the Art Institute of Atlanta, where he also trained with one of the best chefs in the country, certified Master Chef Daryl Shular, a culinary Olympic Gold medalist. He then became a sous chef at the Garden Brasserie, in France, where he worked in all aspects of the kitchen brigade and learned classical and new techniques. He has won numerous culinary competitions, including gold and silver awards in American Culinary Federation certified events. He also ran a small restaurant in his home town and today he continues to give back to his community and build bridges of knowledge and wisdom to transform his neighborhood and beyond. Sharing his knowledge of healthy eating is important to him. His philosophy is “to eat well is to live well.”
